Venus turned retrograde on October 3, and according to the astrologer Eleanor, the period until the planet of love goes direct in mid-November amounts to a "pre-glow-up era." She said this stretch is best used for returning to the drawing board and planning a glow-up. Eleanor advised against drastic changes for now, suggesting that once the retrograde ends people can begin putting those plans into effect. Her guidance was to gather information before making anything permanent.

For Scorpio, Venus is retrograde in that sign until October 25, and Eleanor said the placement brings a readiness for change along with a desire to work out how to achieve it. She said Scorpios will look in the mirror and want to change their appearance, though she cautioned against anything permanent during the retrograde and suggested booking a hair appointment for after it ends. She added that money matters also come into focus, and that Scorpios will question whether they like the life they have built or have simply settled. Habits will become obvious, and the focus shifts from what looks good to what feels truly aligned, she said.

Eleanor also said someone's behavior will prompt Scorpios to see how much effort they have spent keeping certain relationships alive, leading them to stop initiating, explaining, and doing everything. They will initially pull back to see whether the other person picks up the slack, she said, and will eventually recognize that the relationship only appeared balanced because they were correcting the imbalance. Having tired of one-sided effort, they will withdraw their energy, and if the connection ends, Eleanor indicated that life improves with people who meet them halfway.

Cancer's standards are changing between now and mid-November, according to Eleanor, who said Cancer will become very picky about who has access to them. She said that no matter how attractive or intelligent someone is, a person who drains their energy will be cut out, and that while this will not be easy, it is how life improves. Eleanor said being generous had become part of how Cancer proves they care, but that during this retrograde they will realize they can love someone without constantly rescuing them. They will also notice who shows up less once they stop giving.

For Capricorn, Eleanor said the glow-up begins with being tired of looking at an old version of their life, whether from unhappiness or boredom, and that this retrograde is the time to plan a next big move such as a career change, new friends, or an appearance upgrade. She also said an old goal will make Capricorn wonder why they abandoned it, and that something once deemed unrealistic may simply have been badly timed and will look different given current experience and resources.

Libra feels this retrograde strongly, especially after Venus moves into that sign on October 25, Eleanor said. She said Libra will look back at earlier versions of themselves and see that things were not that bad, and that insecurities which once seemed important did not really matter much. As a result, Libra is folding older aesthetics into a new self and caring far less about what people think, which Eleanor described as freeing. She said the goal is no longer to be liked or admired, and that Libra moves from wanting to be chosen to being much more selective about what they choose.
