With Mercury and Venus both retrograde at the end of October, three zodiac signs are rethinking what they thought they wanted, according to YourTango. The slowdown may feel frustrating, but astrologer Evan Nathaniel Grim says it offers a chance for needed reflection. He described these signs as working out whether they actually prefer a given type of job or partnership, whether they really want to spend money on a particular thing, or whether they truly want to pursue a creative idea. Even matters once considered settled are shifting as they work out what they want at this point in their lives.

For Libra, a New Moon in the sign on October 10 focused attention on identity and self-image. As retrograde Venus moves into Libra on October 10, spending habits come into question, and splurging may no longer feel enjoyable, especially when it drains savings. Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of aesthetics and beauty, so nice things remain appealing, but possessions may seem less important and less worth the money spent. Grim noted that the past cannot be changed, but spending habits going forward can be adjusted.

Grim also said people may realize they would like to earn money from a different skill, or may find their current work unsatisfying and want to make money another way. He suggested thinking about goals and whether they still generate excitement, since dreams can change, and honoring what is wanted now. Venus has been in Libra since early September and retrograde since October 3, and Mercury is now retrograde in Scorpio as well. Grim described this energy as transformative, with much of it happening behind the scenes, making questions about wants unsurprising.

Grim advised journaling, meditating and spending time in solitude to see what messages emerge in the silence. He said people are questioning their wants all around, from jobs and relationships to personal style or the color of a car. This reflection brings a need to release what no longer fits, including old dreams and relationships that have been outgrown. Grim acknowledged it will not be easy, but said it makes room for something better.

According to Grim, the Libra New Moon earlier this month set a reflective tone regarding alliances and whom one trusts. Taurus is rethinking relationships and who deserves a seat at the table. Grim said this applies across life, including reflecting on who one teams up with to accomplish workplace goals, or questioning whether to be with someone.
